Co-Purchase Colorado (CPC) leverages mission-driven organizations’ buying power to create meaningful change in the local economy. Center for Community Wealth delivers on CPC partners’ desire to align their purchasing of needed goods and services with their social mission and commitment to Black Lives Matter. CCW builds intentional relationships with local, BIPOC, immigrant, women, LGTBQ, and veteran-owned businesses to provide support and introduction to CPC partners, i.e. potential new customers.
CPC was launched in October 2020 and was co-created with eleven congregations in the metro area. The program is open to congregations of any denomination, as well as other nonprofit organizations that agree with the CPC Covenant. A common thread is that all current partners have facilities that they own and manage, which means they utilize skilled trades and facility maintenance businesses, as well as other services such as IT support, printing, security, and event-related businesses. Our work together continues to evolve as we strive for greater impact.
Most partners participate in a monthly virtual 45-minute check-in to share their experience with CPC vendors, alert CCW to upcoming spending needs, share ideas and resources, as well as troubleshoot challenges.
New partners are welcome! Each partner identifies a CPC point person. This is usually the organization’s administrator responsible for operations, but clergy and volunteers can also be well-suited to this role. To get involved, contact @Michelle Sturm if you are a congregation or organization and @Karen if you are a small business.
